MPPI is inviting you to take part in an exciting opportunity to support Montessori education at the national level — no prior advocacy experience required.
On Thursday, March 19th at the 2026 AMS Montessori Event, we will host a preconference full day workshop that concludes with a collective walk to Capitol Hill, where Montessori educators and supporters will meet directly with federal legislators. This historic effort is designed to elevate the voice of fully implemented Montessori programs and advocate for policies that help them thrive.
If advocacy feels new, you will be well supported. Participants will engage in a series of preparatory webinars that introduce the advocacy process, explain what meetings with legislators look like, and build confidence for participating in group visits. The Montessori Public Policy Initiative (MPPI) will provide guidance and resources every step of the way.
Our goal is to have at least two representatives from every state, and we would be thrilled to have you participate on behalf of yours. If you are unable to attend, we ask that you pass this information on to someone else who may be interested. Please use this link to share your name and contact information if you plan to register yourself and represent your state. If you have not yet registered for the AMS Montessori Event, here is the Link to Early Bird Registration as well.
We hope you’ll consider joining us as we bring Montessori from the classroom to Capitol Hill — together.
